This is a prelim version of this song, done especially for a guy named
Brian Lanter who requested it on alt.guitar.bass.
So, fellow bassist, I hope this can hold ya till I can figure
out the rest of this song :)

Main riff

THis is done for almost the whole song. As always, little funky variations here
and there, but that'll come later. the bass comes in with the guitar.

G|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
D|--0---------------4-------4--------|------------------5-------5-/-7----|
A|--------------4h5-----5-------5----|--------------4h5-----5------------|
E|-----------------------------------|--3--------------------------------|
Here's the big variation, at the place where dave sings 'Until a quieter
time....'
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

E|-----------------------------------|---3-------------------------------|
Quieter Time, Lights down, you up and die."
Thanks to the person that e-mailed me about this. Here's the rest of the
song, slightly modified, that you sent me. Thanks again.
The above section corresponding to the lyrics 'Take these chances, Put them
in the back until...' are only played as shown above the FIRST time, the
following times, it is played as follows:
****************
Var. of Chorus.
****************
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
D|---------------0-------------------|-----------------------------------|
A|---2-------------------------------|---------------2-------0-----------|
E|-----------------------------------|---3-------------------------------|
Take these Chan- -ces
{The next part slides down the neck, holding the notes, and strikes the ones
noted here.}
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
E|--22------21------19------17-------|--15------14------12------10-------|
Place them in the back un- -til a
Then, the first two bars of it is repeated:
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
D|---------------0-------------------|-----------------------------------|
A|---2-------------------------------|---------------2-------0-----------|
E|-----------------------------------|---3-------------------------------|
..Quieter time, Lights down, you up and die.
The chorus is done in that fashion every time after the first in the song.
The last part is the section with lyrics 'And all the little ants are
marching....'
It goes like this. Basically, just repeated over and over.
******
Bridge
******
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------|-------------------0---2---0-------|
A|-----------------------------------|-----------0---2---------------2---|
E|---3-----------2---------------0---|-----------------------------------|
"...all the little ants are marching...."
That's just about the whole song. There are a few places, such as during the
violin solo, where they hit single notes. During the violin solo, they just
go between fret 5 on the A-string, and fret 3 on the E-string, respectively.
After the solo, they return to the Bridge riff.
At the other part pretaining, where Dave is singing some wierd gibberish, all
the nots are 3rd fret on the E string.
The person who sent me this information also suggested playing the rising fill
with the horns and violin, so I'll include that too.
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------|---------------------------7---9---|
E|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|-----------------------------------|-------------------6-----------6---|
D|-------------------7-----------7---|---9-------7---9-----------9-------|
A|--10---r---9--10-------r--10-------|-----------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------|-----------------------------------|
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &
G|---7-------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------|
I don't do this, but it's cool.
Good song!
Cody
